GENKO Proposals

We object to the proposals by land speculators GENKO for three sites in Whitchurch

The three proposed development sites are:

• Land to the north of the Whitchurch train station
• Land to the south of London Road (adjacent to The Gables & the Mill Trail)
• Valley, or valley of the Winterbourne, east of Bere Hill

The proposed GENKO sites are problematic and all have environmental constraints.

The North Wessex Downs AONB and its setting is a designated protected, national landscape

Action:

Whitchurch Conservation Group submitted 455 individual responses in the Basingstoke and Deane Issues and Options Consultation (2020) calling for the deletion of Policy SS11.

Our lobbying and continued actions have resulted in the deletion of Policy SS11 in the adopted Local Plan.
